The deal
Terms of use
What you can expect from us, and the couple of things we ask back. No traps.
Last updated: not yet published — draft.
The gist
Whatsdoing is a free email that tells you what’s on near you — gigs, food, comedy, club nights and the like — plus a short round-up of local news. You pick your area and interests; we do the sifting. These terms are the agreement between you and Showday Tickets Ltd, trading as Whatsdoing, when you use the site or subscribe.
By signing up, you’re agreeing to this. If you don’t, don’t sign up — no hard feelings.
It’s free
The newsletter costs nothing and there’s no account to pay for. Because it’s free, we can change how it works, add cities, or take a break from sending, without owing you a refund — there’s nothing to refund. We’ll give you fair warning of anything major.
Events, tickets and discounts
The events and any discounts or promo codes come from third parties — venues, promoters and ticket sellers. Their terms apply to any ticket you buy, and Whatsdoing isn’t a party to that transaction. We don’t sell tickets and we don’t take a cut from you.
We pull listings together automatically and do our best to keep them accurate, but details change — times move, gigs get cancelled, prices go up. Always check with the organiser or ticket seller before you set off or pay for anything.
Playing fair
A few things we ask you not to do:
- Don’t sign up other people’s email addresses without their say-so.
- Don’t scrape, hammer or try to break the site or our sending.
- Don’t try to get around our rate limits or anti-abuse measures, or use the service for anything unlawful.
If someone’s abusing the service, we may block them or stop sending. We’ll be reasonable about it.
Leaving
You can go whenever you like. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe that actually works, and it deletes your details — see our privacy notice for exactly what happens to your data. Door’s always open if you want to come back.
Where we stand on blame
We provide Whatsdoing as-is and can’t promise it’ll always be spot-on or never miss a beat. As far as the law allows, we’re not liable for losses that come from relying on a listing — a cancelled gig, a sold-out show, a price that changed. Nothing here limits our liability for things the law says we can’t limit, such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we change something material, we’ll flag it in the newsletter footer with a link back here. Carrying on using the service after a change means you’re happy with it.
